About Furniture Finders
- Furniture Finders of Winsford was originally
founded in 1997 by three local people who, with volunteers, began
to supply furniture opening for just 4 hours a week and providing
furniture to those who needed it.
- Following a severe fire in 2004 we realized
that there was still a desperate need for a furniture re use project
in Mid Cheshire
- Furniture Finders of Winsford Ltd"
was reconstituted in June 2005 and in October 2005 secured funding
from The Big Lottery Fund (Community Recycling & Economic
Development) and the Cheshire Waste Partnership for £120,000.
- In May 2006 we opened for business
Furniture Finders of Winsford is a "new look"
furniture re-use project. As a not for profit social enterprise
we collect unwanted household furniture and electrical appliances
for redistribution.
We currently have 6 staff, more than 25 volunteers, 2 Directors
and an Advisory Board. We operate out of a large warehouse and whilst
we are not for profit we are a business with social aims and want
to become financially self sustaining by providing services for
our community that are paid for . The recent addition of our training
department means we can help even more people
