Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Does furniture have to be made using fire retardant materials?
A. Yes. Soft furnishings such as suites, easy chairs and beds must
carry a flame retardant label.
Q. I have some furniture to give but it's quite a few years old.
A. Age is unimportant but condition is. For example, once badly scratched,
stained with cup marks or water damaged, modern laminate furniture
can be difficult to repair. On the other hand, solid wood furniture
can be repaired more easily or broken down to recover the wood for
alternative uses.
Q. I've got an old computer, will you take it?
A. Not at the moment
Q. Do you charge for collection or delivery?
A. No, but we ask for a contributions towards the vehicle costs. We
redistribute furniture free to those on low income.
Q. Where do you cover?
A:We operate in Vale Royal and Middlewich and go to different areas
on different days of the week. This helps reduce fuel and operating
costs.
Q. Do I need to be in?
A: We normally expect someone to be present as we need a signature.
If this causes a problem please discuss with us when you call.
Q. Do you collect items in a poor state of repair?
A. Sorry, we don't. Just like everybody else we have to pay to have
scrap items removed to landfill. As a social enterprise, we can't
afford to do this very often and therefore ask that you are confident
that your donated goods will be usable. Thanks.
Q. Can I drop off my donations at your premises?
A. Certainly, we would be pleased to see you and it helps reduce
our fuel costs! Please, do not leave items outside if we are closed.
